Sagte jüngst der Spatz zur Amsel:
Weißt du was? Ich frage mich,
warum ängstlich diese Menschen
eilen, hetzen, sorgen sich.

Freund, erwiderte die Amsel,
ihnen fehlt es sicherlich
an dem Vater dort im Himmel,
der da sorgt für dich und mich.

Hier das englische Original:

‘Said the robin to the sparrow,
“I should really like to know,
why these anxious human beings
rush around and worry so.”

Said the sparrow to the robin,
“Friend, I think that it must be,
that they have no Heavenly Father
such as cares for you and me.”’
